Because … so: 因为…所以…

因为 A,所以 B  ·  Traditional: 因為 A,所以 B

Chinese states cause and effect with a pair: 因为 (because) opens the reason, 所以 (so) opens the result — and unlike English, it's natural to use BOTH: 因为下雨,所以我们不去公园了.

You can drop either one in casual speech, but never replace 所以 with nothing while keeping English word order in your head — the reason clause comes first.

因为下雨,所以我们不去公园了。
因為下雨,所以我們不去公園了。
yīn wèi xià yǔ suǒ yǐ wǒ men bù qù gōng yuán le
Because it's raining, we're not going to the park.
因为他病了,所以今天没来上课。
因為他病了,所以今天沒來上課。
yīn wèi tā bìng le suǒ yǐ jīn tiān méi lái shàng kè
He's sick, so he didn't come to class today.
因为太忙,所以我没给你打电话。
因為太忙,所以我沒給你打電話。
yīn wèi tài máng suǒ yǐ wǒ méi gěi nǐ dǎ diàn huà
I was too busy, so I didn't call you.
因为这里的菜很好吃,所以我常常来。
因為這裡的菜很好吃,所以我常常來。
yīn wèi zhè lǐ de cài hěn hǎo chī suǒ yǐ wǒ cháng cháng lái
The food here is great, so I come often.
