Anyway: 反正

反正 + Statement

反正 (fǎnzhèng) means "anyway" or "in any case" — it shrugs off whatever came before and lands on a conclusion that won't change: 随便你,反正我不去 "do whatever you want — either way, I'm not going."

It often pairs with 不管/无论 ("no matter what… anyway…") and adds a slightly stubborn, case-closed tone. Don't use it as a polite topic-changer — that's 对了.

Examples

隨便你,反正我不去。
suí biàn nǐ fǎn zhèng wǒ bù qù
Do whatever you want — I'm not going anyway.

Common mistakes

✗ 反正,你昨天去哪儿了?
✓ 对了,你昨天去哪儿了?
To change the subject, use 对了. 反正 means "either way, the conclusion stands."
