Formal 将: written 把 and future

Subj. + 将 + Obj. + Verb / Subj. + 将 + Verb Phrase  ·  Traditional: Subj. + 將 + Obj. + Verb / Subj. + 將 + Verb Phrase

将 (jiāng) is two formal tools in one. First, it's the written-register 把: 请将手机关机 "please switch off your phones" — same structure, suit-and-tie tone. You'll meet it in announcements, signs, and news.

Second, 将 (or 将要/将会) marks the formal future: 会议将在下周五举行 "the meeting will be held next Friday." Both uses belong to writing and formal speech — in conversation, stick with 把 and 会.
